Megalap 2017 Round 2 Superstreet and Open Class
This post of Megalap Round 2 2017 coverage will cover superstreet and open class. Megalap Round 2 2017 take place on 3.12.2017 before MSF Finale the next day. For Superstreet, participant’s car have to be street legal and tyre of 60 threadwear or above is permitted to be used. This basically mean semi slick such as Advan A050, Hankook Ventus TD Z221, Federal FZ-201, Toyo R888R etc. For open class, a participant’s car can be non road registered and purpose built machine. Superstreet NA-FF
Winner of this class went to Kelvin hoh and his Honda Civic FD2. His winning time is 2:29.726.
Second place of this class went to Mohd Hanif Ali and his Honda Civic Type R FD2. His time is 2:34.458.
Third place went to Asrul Azam Bin Ali and his Proton Satria. His time is 2:42.944.
Fourth place went to Amir Hamzah in his Honda Civic EK Hatch. His time is 2:45.737.
Fifth place went to Chan Kin Sun and his Proton Wira. He is running a MIVEC engine, presumably a 4G92 MIVEC. His time is 2:55.359. It is nice to see a car that Malaysian is very familiar with in a time attack competition like that.

Winner of Open above 2.2L goes to Hiu Chin Yang and his flame spitting Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. His time is 2:36.759.

The car that everyone looking forward to putting down a lap including me, Aliff Hamdan’s Lancer Evolution 6 does not put down a lap due to issue with ignition system. This car is built by Chaser Motorworks in Australia and managed 2nd place in WTAC 2012 open class with time of 1:33.484. This is a potential contender to take down overall time attack record held by ST Wangan EVO with time of 2:14.903.
