Retro Havoc is a huge car meet/show organized by our local boys from Atara Racing and their primary focus is usually always on retro cars. 2016 marks the 3rd installment of Retro Havoc. The venue of choice for this year was at the Puteri Square Multi Storey Car Park located at Bandar Puteri, Puchong. Special guests include Blake Jones of Speedhunters fame, Daijiro Inada of Option Magazine Japan/Tokyo Auto Salon fame, Shoji Inoue of Star Road Japan along with Sushi Factory out of Philippines and Kustomfest out from Indonesia. Besides all of the above mentioned guests, Classicracer from Hong Kong attended the event too to cover this event and there will be a feature film about it. To call this event a success would be an understatement as there is a constant stream of crowds and cars rolling in and out of the venue. We will break up this report into four parts, first let’s start by looking at the activities on the roof top.
Rooftop
This section is dedicated to the roof top activity that is taking place the entire day. There are vendors who sell food, booth from sponsors as well as performances such as drifting, rev battles and burnouts taking place.
Neo Retro
Neo Retro is car that is destined to be a future classic if not a classic already. Enjoy!

This Skyline R32 belongs to Allen, founder of Cheater which is a clothing brand that sells automotive themed clothes.

We love this 180SX Type X! We even left a name card on the door handle. Do contact us if you are the owner of this car as we would like to find out more about your car.

This is a NSX that you see often at local car events here. It features a manual gearbox but we could not be sure if it is a 6 speed or 5 speed.

One of our favorite cars at the show, a real Galant VR4 E39A belonging to Ken. The paint is in good shape and the wheel is so well chosen to match the car.

Trivia time: Most people would agreed that the Galant VR4 E39A is actually a Lancer Evolution 0 as it shares the same drivetrain and 4G63 as the real EVO.
Retro
Retro is the section dedicated to all the old school/classic cars. Nissan seems to be the most popular amongst the marque.

Anyone else thinks that the Toyota Corolla KE70 is one of the most definitive retro cars in Malaysia? A lot of our buddies have one as a project.

This is a Nissan Sunny truck with a KPGC10 Hakosuka Skyline front end conversion, otherwise known as a “Hakotora”.

This is a work in progress Nissan S30 2+0 Fairlady Z. It is one of the highlights of the event and came all the way from Johor.
Random
Stuff that don’t fit in the above 3 categories fall into here.

One of the most “WTF” moment at Retro Havoc. We can’t even identify what is the base car! Nevertheless, an interesting breadvan conversion for a car.(It’s a Volkswagen Type-3 – Ed.)

While stanced cars is not really our thing, we think that this Toyota Camry is nicely executed for what it is. Props to the owner.
Conclusion
Overall, we felt this was an important annual event for the Malaysian car scene as it gave us a chance for the owner of retro cars to shine too. We will try our best to make it to the next installment. Hopefully everyone enjoys this massive-ish pictorial post.
